Description of PD3 Exam

Danish PD3 has a written part and an oral part. The oral exams are scheduled some days after the written part of the Exam.

The structure of the PD3 written Exam

The written part of the Danish PD3 exam is structured into 2 sub parts ; Reading Comprehension (Læseforståelse) and a Creative Writing part (Skriftlig fremstilling).

Time : 1½ hrs

Basis for the Exam: 

PART 1 (Delprøve 1):

An informative text with 15 questions.

Duration 25 minutes.

PART 2A (Delprøve 2A):

A narrative text with seven questions.

PART 2B  (Delprøve 2B):

A narrative text with 8 questions.

Duration of Delprøve 2A and Delprøve 2B; 65  minutes

The total number of questions in these  two parts can be 30.

Overall text length: 10-12 pages.

(Text length can be increased by about 3 standard pages, if texts for the post are included)

Requires fast reading, in order to get the relevant information.

Requires  careful reading  and understanding, of the most important

details.

Read carefully to master the order in which the information is presented because the questions follow the order in which the text is presented.

Answers can be: Short answer, open answer, multiple-choice,

Filling the blank spaces (words / phrases).

Creative Writing part (Skriftlig fremstilling).

Comprised of two parts: writing an e-mail and  a topic.2) 

Aid: all dictionaries are allowed.

Time: 2½ hours

Sub part 1 (Delprøve 1)

is compulsory.

An email or letter writing.

Sub part 2 (Delprøve 2)

You must answer either task A or task B.

Task require analysis on topics of public interest.

The structure of the PD3 Oral Exam

Consists of a prepared monologue on a topic of public interest, followed by a discussion on the topic. This is followed by a presentation based on the participants understanding of a set of images.

Delprøve 1

i) Presentation (duration 2 minutes )

Topic of public interest prepared in advance.

ii) Interview (duration 3 minutes )

Answer questions from the Examiners related to the presented topic.

Delprøve 2

i) Description (duration 1 minutes )

Describe a subject depicted by images.

ii) Interview (duration 4 minutes )

Answer questions from the examiner.

Give your opinion in relation to the the issue depicted by the images.

Give your arguments and give reasons to back your arguments.
